Ari Fleischer Rears His Ugly Head To Cheerlead The Iraq War

A sort of shadow White House communications shop has emerged to help the beleaguered president sell his unpopular war to the American people.

Freedom's Watch was formed by former White House and Bush administration officials and funded by Republican big-money donors. Today it began airing $15 million worth of ads -- featuring veterans and their families -- aimed at influencing wavering members of Congress.

"I know what I lost," says one of those in a TV ad, veteran John Kriesel, who lost both legs in a blast near Fallujah last December. "I also know if we pull out now, everything I've given and sacrificed will mean nothing."

Ari Fleischer was on MSNBC's Hardball yesterday and was asked the name of the soldier in the ad. he could not name that soldier. That should tell you all you need to know about this group. The soldiers are once again just props to spread propaganda and once again they try to tie 9/11 to Iraq. Its more lies. Please watch the video and judge for yourself. Ari Fleischer used to get up every moring, put on his suit and tie and go out and lie to the American public. He is doing that again. Lets call him on it.

Iran Is Arming Taliban, U.S. Envoy Claims

A senior U.S. diplomat accused Iran on Tuesday of transferring weapons to Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan.

Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns, speaking to reporters in Paris, said Iran was funding insurrections across the Middle East — and “Iran is now even transferring arms to the Taliban in Afghanistan.”

How can this possibly be believed? The Taliban are Sunni fundamentalists that have an ancient hatred for the Shiite sect that runs Iran. Iran supported the U.S. effort to oust the Taliban. Are we once again being fed propaganda to get the American population ready for yet another war?

After posting the Bill Moyers special regarding the media. I did not think the real impact of that special could be felt until everyone watched "Outfoxed". Until everyone in the United States understands what Fox News is peddling and how this is a true threat to national security, we will have no chance of changing course.

Media Failure Before the Iraq War

I just watched the Bill Moyers program on PBS about the run up to the war in Iraq and how our media did not ask any hard questions. I am posting the link to this program. Everyone should take an hour and watch this. One of the main reasons I started this site was because of the collapse of our media. Gone are the days of investigative reporting. We are now subjected to infotainment and not news. Until we can bring our media back to the days of old we will continue to be given half truths and propaganda. A free, independent and non corporate media are needed if we are ever going to reverse this dangerous trend.
