Gays In Iraq Being Rounded Up And Murdered

Two openly gay members of the US Congress have written to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice urging the State Department to investigate reports of violent persecution of LGBT people in Iraq.
The letter mentioned news reports that Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the chief spiritual leader of Iraqi Shia Muslims, issued a fatwa, or religiously-inspired legal pronouncement, in October 2005, calling for death for all gays and lesbians in "the most severe way possible."
So lets examine post Saddam Iraq. Women and Gays are actually less secure now then they were under the brutal killer. How exactly can we claim that Iraq is better off now then they were before Saddam? This war has killed scores of people, drained our treasury and left Iraq in shambles. Freedom is on the march in Iraq.
